April 2024
Session Begins – Sarswati Pooja
The academic session 2024–25 commenced with great enthusiasm at The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School. On April 1, students of Classes VI–XII returned to classrooms brimming with energy. Classes III–V resumed on April 2, followed by Classes KG–II on April 3. The youngest learners of Pre-Nursery and Nursery were warmly welcomed on April 4, beginning their journey with the blessings of Goddess Saraswati during a serene and sacred Sarswati Pooja, invoking wisdom and grace.
World Health Day – 7th April
In observance of World Health Day, The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School hosted a meaningful celebration on 6th April, Saturday. Students participated enthusiastically in poster-making activities centered on health awareness and nutrition. A “Healthy Tiffin” initiative encouraged children to bring balanced meals, promoting mindful eating habits. Informative sessions and peer-to-peer talks focused on the importance of hygiene, fitness, and mental well-being. The event successfully awakened a sense of responsibility among students towards maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Eid-Ul-Fitr – 9th April
Eid-Ul-Fitr was joyously celebrated on 9th April at The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School, reflecting the school’s belief in Sarva Dharma Sambhava—equal respect for all faiths. Students and staff shared warm greetings, explored the festival’s significance, and embraced the spirit of harmony and togetherness. The celebration fostered unity, cultural appreciation, and the beauty of diversity within the school community.
SDM Founder’s Day – 12 April
SDM Founder’s Day was celebrated on 12th April with heartfelt admiration and joy, marking the birthday of our esteemed Founder Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) S.D. Malik Ma’am. The occasion reflected the deep love and respect students hold for her inspiring vision. Children across grades created beautiful handmade cards and gifts, expressing their gratitude and affection. A special assembly highlighted her enduring legacy, instilling a sense of pride and belonging in every heart at The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School.
Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti Celebration – 13 and 14th April
Baisakhi and Ambedkar Jayanti were celebrated with enthusiasm at The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School. The dual celebration saw students engaging in poster-making and vibrant handmade craft activities reflecting culture and equality. Pre-primary children lit up the campus with a delightful fancy dress show, dressed as farmers and national leaders. These festivities promoted cultural pride and honored Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s legacy of justice and empowerment, creating an atmosphere of joy and learning.
Divine Pathway (Ramayan Path) and Ram Navami Celebration – 16 and 17 April
The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School embraced spiritual fervor with the Divine Pathway (Ramayan Path) on 16th April, followed by the celebration of Ram Navami on 17th April. These sacred occasions offered students and staff an opportunity to seek blessings of Lord Ram and reflect on his virtues of courage, truth, and devotion. The serene chanting and vibrant decorations created an atmosphere of faith, unity, and reverence across the school campus.
World Heritage Day – 18 April
On 18th April, World Heritage Day was observed at The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School to instill pride in India’s rich cultural legacy. Students explored iconic monuments through creative presentations and posters. Thought-provoking discussions on heritage conservation sparked awareness and appreciation. The celebration emphasized preserving historical treasures and nurturing respect for the diverse traditions that shape our collective identity.
Mahavir Jayanti – 21 April
Mahavir Jayanti was observed on 21st April with reverence at The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School. Students learned about the teachings of Lord Mahavir, emphasizing non-violence, truth, and compassion. Thoughtful presentations and reflective discussions inspired young minds to embrace peaceful living and moral values. The celebration nurtured spiritual growth and respect for Jain philosophy among the school community.
Earth Day Celebration – 22 April
To mark Earth Day, The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School organized a special assembly and plantation drive. Students participated in different activities like poster-making, slogan writing, and a meaningful skit highlighting eco-consciousness. The Principal addressed students to adopt sustainable habits. The school premises were filled with green messages and potted plants, reflecting our shared responsibility toward Mother Earth. It was a soulful tribute to environmental stewardship and student-led awareness.
Hanuman Jayanti & World Book Day Celebration – 23 April
On 23rd April, The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School joyfully celebrated Hanuman Jayanti and World Book Day, blending devotion with literary inspiration. Students participated in soulful recitations, learning about Lord Hanuman’s unwavering strength, humility, and devotion. The World Book Day segment saw vibrant bookmark-making and engaging book-reading activities, encouraging reading habits across all grades. Teachers shared the magic of storytelling, and students expressed their love and respect for books. The celebration beautifully honored both spiritual wisdom and the power of knowledge.
Mock Drill & Declaration of Star Child of the Month – 30 April
Safety and celebration took center stage at The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School through a well-coordinated Mock Drill for Earthquake Preparedness. Students practiced evacuation procedures with discipline and urgency, guided by trained staff, reinforcing the importance of calm response during emergencies. On the same note of excellence, the Star Child of the Month was declared, recognizing outstanding academic performance and participation in co-curricular activities. Applause echoed as deserving students were celebrated for their all-round brilliance and dedication.
May 2024
1st May – International Labour Day
To honour the dignity of labour, students enthusiastically participated in a poster-making activity on International Labour Day. With thoughtful illustrations and slogans, they expressed respect for the countless hands that build and sustain our world. The event nurtured gratitude, awareness, and appreciation among young minds, encouraging them to value hard work, equality, and community service in everyday life.
5th May – World Laughter Day
World Laughter Day was joyfully observed on 5th May with high spirits and a heart full of smiles. Laughter therapy, fun games, and giggle-filled group activities were conducted on the school grounds. The atmosphere echoed with cheerful energy, highlighting laughter as the best medicine. The celebration helped foster emotional well-being, bonding, and a stress-free environment for all students.
8th May – Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti
The birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated with heartfelt tributes and reflective engagements. Students participated in soulful poetry recitations and shared insights on Tagore’s invaluable contributions to literature, music, and education. The occasion inspired young minds to appreciate creative expression and universal harmony. Tagore’s timeless ideals echoed throughout the school, reminding everyone of the beauty of thought and the power of words.
11th May – Intra-School Art Competition (Grades Nursery–II)
On 11th May, The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School conducted an Intra-School Art Competition for Grades Nursery to II. Little artists splashed their imagination onto paper using bright colours and bold strokes. With crayons, brushes, and smiles, children showcased their creativity in delightful ways. The event provided a joyful platform for self-expression, fostering confidence and early appreciation for artistic talent.
12th May – Mother’s Day Celebration
Mother’s Day at The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School was an emotional and joyous celebration. Children from all grades poured their love into crafting handmade greeting cards, glittering crowns, dazzling jewellery, and heart-touching gifts. The air was filled with excitement and pride as students expressed gratitude to their mothers, honouring the unconditional love and strength they bring into their lives every day.
23rd May – Buddha Purnima
Buddha Purnima was observed with serenity and wisdom as students learned about the life and teachings of Lord Buddha. Classes engaged in short meditations, moral storytelling sessions, and reflective discussions. The message of peace, compassion, and mindfulness echoed throughout the school, inspiring learners to walk the path of kindness and self-discipline.
Summer Break Commencement
Summer vacations were scheduled as follows to allow students time for rest, refreshment, and reflection:
- Nursery to Grade II: Began on 18th May
- Grades III to VIII: Began on 25th May
- Grades IX to XII: Began on 31st May
The break offered a chance for rejuvenation and preparation for the exciting months ahead.
June 2024
5th June – World Environment Day
Despite summer vacations, students of The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School embraced World Environment Day with responsible enthusiasm from home. They shared creative posters, planted saplings, and made eco-friendly pledges with their families. Many students crafted thoughtful slogans and videos promoting environmental conservation. The at-home initiative emphasized the importance of nurturing our planet and inspired action even beyond school walls.
16th June – Father’s Day Celebration
Father’s Day was celebrated virtually with warmth and creativity. Students expressed their gratitude to their fathers through handmade cards, video messages, and memorable gestures at home. Some prepared special performances and poems that highlighted the irreplaceable role of fathers in their lives. These touching tributes reflected emotional bonding and appreciation within each family, making the day truly special despite the distance.
17th June – Eid-Ul-Adha
Eid-Ul-Adha was observed with festive joy and mutual respect during the summer break. Students celebrated at home, sharing thoughtful messages and artwork that highlighted the values of sacrifice, compassion, and unity. Families engaged in prayers, charity, and storytelling that reinforced the spirit of this sacred occasion. The celebration echoed the school's belief in embracing diverse traditions and fostering harmony.
21st June – International Yoga Day
To celebrate International Yoga Day, an online yoga session was conducted for students of Classes VI to XII and all teaching staff. Guided by yoga instructors, the session included asanas, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques. Students participated enthusiastically from home, promoting physical well-being and mental peace. The initiative reinforced the importance of adopting yoga as a lifelong wellness practice.
July 2024
1st July – School Reopens
The school reopened on 1st July for all classes, from Nursery to XII, after a refreshing summer break. Students returned with cheerful faces and renewed energy. Warm welcomes, classroom interactions, and an engaging start to the new term set a positive tone for the months ahead. Teachers initiated creative learning sessions, reigniting curiosity and enthusiasm for the academic journey.
7th July – Forgiveness Day
Forgiveness Day was observed to instill emotional wisdom and the strength of letting go. Teachers narrated stories and held discussions on the healing power of apology and empathy. Students wrote thoughtful reflections and role-played real-life scenarios that emphasized making amends. The activity promoted peaceful relationships and the emotional growth of every learner.
9th July – Maths Quiz (Nursery to Grade II)
An exciting Intra-Class Maths Quiz was organized for students of Nursery to Grade II. Children participated with sparkling enthusiasm, solving puzzles, number games, and rapid-fire questions. The quiz enhanced numerical skills, boosted confidence, and showcased how mathematics can be both fun and challenging. Little minds thinking big—what a joy to witness!
11th July – World Population Day
World Population Day was marked through a creative poster-making activity where students reflected on the importance of balancing population growth with resource sustainability. Using impactful visuals and slogans, they raised awareness about health, environment, and future planning. The activity encouraged responsible citizenship and environmental consciousness among students.
13th July – PTM and Holiday Homework Display
The Parent-Teacher Meeting on 13th July was a collaborative platform to discuss students' progress. A vibrant display of holiday homework across all classes showcased creativity, effort, and independent thinking. Parents appreciated the initiative and shared valuable feedback, deepening home–school collaboration and reaffirming shared goals for student success.
17th July – Muharram
On the solemn occasion of Muharram, the school community reflected on the values of sacrifice, patience, and moral integrity. Students learned about the historical significance of the day through storytelling and discussions. The observance promoted respect for religious diversity and inspired values of courage and devotion in everyday life.
20th July – Intra-School Dance Competition (Nursery to Grade II)
Rhythm met grace during the Intra-School Dance Competition for Nursery to Grade II. Little performers lit up the stage with vibrant costumes and dazzling expressions. The performances celebrated culture, confidence, and creativity, while encouraging students to explore the joy of movement and artistic storytelling.
21st July – Guru Purnima Celebration
Guru Purnima was observed with reverence and gratitude as students paid homage to their teachers—the guiding lights of knowledge. The celebration included poetry, thank-you messages, and floral tributes, reflecting the timeless bond between guru and shishya. It was a moment of reflection and deep appreciation across the school.
28th July – National Parents’ Day
National Parents’ Day was celebrated to honour the unconditional love, guidance, and sacrifices of parents. Students expressed their emotions through drawings, letters, and heartfelt messages, acknowledging their parents' support in every step of life. The event strengthened the emotional bridge between home and school, embracing gratitude and love.
31st July – Mock Drill (Fire Safety) & Star Child of the Month
A Fire Safety Mock Drill was conducted on 31st July to educate students and staff on safe evacuation and emergency protocols. Trained personnel demonstrated response techniques, enhancing preparedness and awareness. The day also marked the declaration of the Star Child of the Month, recognizing academic excellence and active co-curricular participation. Proud applause echoed as young achievers shone bright.
Fostering Holistic Growth through MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE CLUBS
At The Baptist Convent Sr. Sec. School, we believe in nurturing every child’s unique potential through a diverse spectrum of co-scholastic activities. Our Multiple Intelligence Clubs offer dynamic opportunities for students to explore and excel in areas such as Judo, Skating, Drama, Linguistics, Art, Music, and more—encouraging confidence, collaboration, and creative expression beyond textbooks.
The new academic session always begins with the blessings of the Almighty, reinforcing our belief in spiritual grounding. Throughout the year, students actively participate in vibrant celebrations and festivals including Akhand Ramayan Path, Earth Day, Guru Purnima, Diwali Mela, Eid, Hanuman Jayanti, Christmas, and Guruparv, fostering cultural harmony and joyful participation.
To build environmental consciousness, the school runs a thriving Eco Club under CBSE’s “Green School Drive.” Students engage in activities promoting sustainable living, such as rainwater harvesting awareness, water conservation campaigns, and eco-art projects.
A key focus remains on personality development through daily rituals, value-based assemblies, and expressive platforms that build leadership, empathy, discipline, and self-awareness. These experiences are carefully designed to shape responsible, well-rounded individuals ready to embrace future challenges with confidence and character.
